The working day of an Operations Support Coordinator
"In my role, I am the watchful eye of the daily operation and support the daily operation in delivering all orders. With the motto 'prevention is better than rectification', using all the information and data at my disposal, I ensure that my colleagues are able to check all stocks so that no bottlenecks occur when picking orders. I also monitor order progress and all stocks during the day so that there are no shortages. I also check all outgoing deliveries to make sure they have been picked correctly and that shipments are at the right dock. This way, all deliveries arrive at the right customer. A precise job! I get a kick out of making sure, together with my colleagues, that we have as flawless an operation as possible every day."
The working day of a Transport Planner Abroad
"I work in Planning UK at Dijco, the transport company of The Greenery Logistics. Here, I make sure that all transport orders to the UK are properly executed. Since the Brexit, doing business with and transporting to the UK requires many extra documents. For example, an export document, an import document and KCB approval. If we do not have these things in order, our shipment will not enter the UK. At the same time, I book the boat for Hook of Holland to Harwich and back again. Our truck goes out on the 10pm boat and back on the 11pm boat the next day. The key is to be on time with the booking so that there is definitely a spot left for our driver and his truck. During the day, I have a lot of contact with my colleagues from planning and the drivers. Super fun and the days fly by!"
