Work Processes
We aim to structure our work processes in a sustainable and responsible way. SMETA audits are conducted annually on our organization's standards of labor, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.
In addition, The Greenery Logistics is a member of the Sustainable Trade Initiative. In this way, we ensure that we only do business with suppliers who share our commitment to socially responsible and ethical business practices.
Warehousing & Transport
More than 10,000 solar panels have been installed on the roofs of our distribution centers. The panels generate energy for our technical installations, reach trucks, and refrigerated units. We also ensure our trucks are optimally loaded and utilized to save mileage and fuel. The trucks are equipped with an energy recovery system that allows energy to be reused, for instance for cooling our trailers, among other things.
Packaging
There is a growing demand for sustainable packaging, such as cardboard. We are specialists in sustainable packaging solutions for the potato, vegetable, and fruit processing (AGF) industry. We think along with our customers and can assist in the development of these solutions. Utilizing our wide range of packing machinery, we are able to fulfil all sustainable packing requirements.
In collaboration with one of our customers, we developed a kiwi production line that packs kiwis into 100% recyclable packs – up to 70 per minute.
And by teaming up with a supplier of plastic trays, almost 4 million plastic bottles were converted into plastic trays as part of a POP project. These plastic bottles would otherwise have ended up in the oceans surrounding the Indonesian archipelago.
